Thursday, September 28, 2000 --- The October 2000 Issue of Conde Nast
Traveler, one of the top travel magazines in the United States, featured
Belize on the cover. Conde Nast Traveler is edited and designed to
provide
the experienced, discerning traveler with an array of diverse experiences
encompassing art, architecture, fashion, culture, shopping and more. This
important publication has a circulation of approximately 800,000
households.

The story, which focused on the growing trend of North Americans taking
shorter and shorter holidays, highlighted Caye Caulker. With Belize's
proximity to the United States, the article pointed out that it is
possible
to board a plane in New York early in the morning, and be on the beach in
Belize for a late afternoon swim. Since Belize is nothing more than a two
hour flight from the major US gateways, more and more "quick vacationers"
are considering Belize as their destination of choice.

"There is no doubt that Belize has so much to offer to the traditional
traveler, but we are certainly in the perfect geographic location for
those
whose lifestyles cannot afford more than a couple days vacation at one
time," comments Tracy Taegar, Director of Tourism. "We are thrilled to
see
that the international print media continues to recognize Belize as an
excellent destination for all types of travelers.
