Hello,

My husband and I will be on a cruise in Feb 2004 stopping in Belize. We plan on taking the water taxi to this quaint island. We will need to take the 1:30pm taxi back to Belize. Is that time slot that time of year really crowded? We can't miss the ship.

Also, we love to snorkle. Any decent snorkeling off the piers. Where are the mangroves in relation to where the taxi drops you off? Is is true there are alligators in the mangroves (read that somewhere).

Thanks for all replies.

About the water taxi situation, there is usually a back-up boat if there are too many passengers. The association is very conscientious in accomodating as many passengers as possible, with the boat availability. You can check at the water taxi office when you arrive on the caye.
The best swimming and snorkeling from shore is at "The Split" http://www.cybercayecaulker.com/split.htm
Dont worry about crocodiles there.
