I am sorry to all the believe the restaurant has gone down since I (the daughter) have been there. my mother still runs the restaurant but due to many reasons she does not go around there much any more. I understand that my husband or myself has not been there and that may be due to the fact that my brother had been running the restaurant since June after my Wedding cause i went on my honeymoon. My husband would not be seen at the business because he started school in September. I do the best i can when i am there but as in any business u do get overwhelmed at times. I am sorry to all whom havehad bad experiences and when u mention it we try our best to rectify problems.

Thank you to all for your comments and they are all taken into consideration.

Here is the third side to the Rasta Pasta story.......Sat down that morning for some breakfast, then left minutes after the Crazy Canucks, for probably the same reason. Did not have a great experience..... Hopefully the staff and ownwers WERE on drugs/alcohol.Is the only reason that could explain the actions and atittutes they exhibited that morning.
Great bar swings by the way......

New Year's Day is a tough one on Caye Caulker, since most places to eat close that day (and on Christmas too), the ones that are open usually are slam jammed for business. I don't understand why these businesses close, because people have to eat somewhere, and the island is complete booked up. When you are overwhelmed with customers, because the island is so full of people, fast/nice service doesn't always happen. PLUS most of the workers are hung over or have called in sick. We (Coco Loco Cafe inside of Caribbean Colors Art Gallery) actually put up a sign at the counter for that day that read "Rule #1 - You MUST not make your server cry" We also put another sign behind the espresso machine that said "TODAY, please do not STARBUCK me to death" and were trying to deal with the situation humorously with only 2 of us working the whole day.

I can understand that for sure - the day we went into Rasta Pasta was New Years Day however the restaurant was only at about 15% capacity - not many people in there when we were there.

I had horrible service when I was there 1 1/2 years ago/ They kept saying "Your order is next" then plenty of orders kept coming out. Over and over "your order is next" and we ordered a buritto and salad. Took 1 1/2 hours.

Maralyn here.... OK timne for the defense mechanisms.... I was not going to open on New Years day for these same frustrating reasons...hung over employees and tourists alike doesn't mix well. Personally since this has turned into this .... I had not gone out New Years and just jumped into the restaurant for a minute and wouldn'a you know it it would blow up like this. With my 10 years experience these negative coments are beginning to get to me.... the amount of dissastisfied to happy campers for 10 years... I just don't know why RASTA PASTA...please give us a break it's been a rough situation at that location as is and that is why I am no longer present often for this same reason. I will not be replying on this board anymore.... please take your idle time and pick on someone else for a while. Thanks and PEACE
