Thanks again for all of the info everyone!!

Looks like we'll be coming down in late August for our first trip. I'm booking the flights right now and was wondering how much time I should leave in between arriving in Belize City and flying to San Pedro. Also the same for flying back to Belize City. I figured an hour at minimum??

BZE to San Pedro -- an hour is plenty -- if you have the choice of 30 minutes or 90 minutes, choose the 30 and if you miss the flight you can always catch the next one -- no problem.

San Pedro to BZE -- plan at least 100 minutes between flights at BZE. Getting checked in and through security can be nuts and there's no missing this flight unless you want real trouble. No need to arrive at San Pedro airstrip any more than 30 minutes before if you have a reservation.

Have fun!

I will have a Belikin -- put it on klcman's tab.

Thanks Otteralum! I'm glad I asked because I'd have booked the flight back to BZE too late. I was thinking about only leaving 30 minutes or so. Wanted to stay in Ambergris for as long as possible but I guess getting home is pretty important too. haha

"Getting home is pretty important too?" Once you've been to Ac, you'll realize that that's just crazy talk!! grin

LOL! But home is where the money comes from! I wouldn't want to end up being another broke gringo in Belize begging for money on the beach...well, I guess that doesn't sound so bad. grin

Yeah, that doesn't sound so bad at all!! We'll be in SP for the first time in exactly 2 weeks... really looking forward to this trip!! Like so many others, we loved Hawaii, thought Mexico and Dominican Republic were fine, but for some reason I feel drawn to Ambergris Caye.... I could get into being a beach bum tho!

I just got back from Hawaii about 6 months ago. Went for my honeymoon for a couple of weeks and absolutely loved it. There is no other place on Earth like it. I've been to most of the Caribbean islands but have always found them to be too "touristy". I hate trying to relax on a beach with dozens of people try to sell me things. That's one of the (many) things that turned me on to AC. It seems like the Caribbean of old.

2 weeks!! You are too lucky! I've got to wait another 5 and a half months!
