The 11th Ruta Maya Canoe Race will start in San Ignacio on the 7th of March and will finish in Belize City on the 10th of March 2008: http://www.larutamayabelize.com/

I'll be there 6am the start watch all the boats collide as they pass the low bridge Ha! Ha!. Do not forget the Block Party tomorrow night, I hear Liela Verne (Is that how you spell it?) will be performing from 7pm.

C-P-B-L is leading the race in the 11th La Ruta Maya River Challenge. With more on the race, we join Rhonda Crichton.

"Today marks the beginning of the 11th Annual La Ruta Maya Belize River Challenge. The race started this morning at seven underneath the Hawksworth Bridge in San Ignacio. This is a four day race making stops at Banana Bank today, tomorrow they stop at Bermuda Landing and the following day in Burrell Boom and finishing on Monday in Belize City. The team to get here at Banana Bank first is C.P.B.L, followed about five minutes later by Banana Bank team and then following third was Belizean Tires, followed in fourth position by Atlantic Bank and Regan International came in fifth and Agro-Tech coming in sixth position.
