texascat & friends - those who are going to the mainland: i do not dive. my husb had a great time diving in AC, BUT, dont die if you dont do it this time around. he also liked diving in cozumel. heres my real point of this: the mainland was sooooo cool when we were there. there was so much more variety of things to see and do. the wildlife, the jungle, the ruins...i will never forget any of it. i spent 7 days mainland in 1993, and only 3 on AC. loved them both. on the mainland it was do, do, do, and on AC it was relax, relax, relax (with drinking interspersed with both). you will love cayo. i did. hit banana bank ranch for a horseback ride through the jungle. that was awesome! dont give up. belize will be there for you next time. remember, something good usually comes out of something bad.

Oh Hon, dry your eye, you are gonna have a blast. Hubby and I started in Cozumel 7 years ago and have worked our way done the coast to Belize and A.C.
Cozumel is great diving and the ferry to Playa de Carmen is a must. Love that little town, and then you have Tulum sosos pretty.

we are very disappointed in not going to belize but if we can do cozumel that be great break until we get san pedro. i'm looking forward to cozumel, but more to san pedro.
diving for me is a very brave thing i have to accomplish for myself and will be celebrating like a big dog if i get thru it.
this is the biggest thing i've done since being a volleyball coach!!
i just want to get the open water dives over so i can decide if it's for me, although i have bought most of the dive equipment. bright green dive eqip. no one can miss me and thats the way i want it. i've heard to many stories about being left behind or forgotten about that i'm making sure that i'm seen at all times!!!!! they're not loosing me!!!!

You will do fine. In front of Fiesta Inn is a great place to snorkle, you might try out your gear there first. You might find comfort in being able to see land right in front of you in the beginning. Then off to the deep blue!!!! Have fun!!!

Orion, We know the feeling, when it comes to the countdown, and we are feeling left out, wishing we could be with you on that plane that flys you to San Pedro, and landing in Paradise. Everyone is transformed the minute you step off the plane. It is amazing relaxed feeling. "My feeling is I am home."

Chloe, my sentiments exactly! I take off my Birks when I step off the plane and put them on to go home. Good to know there are others who understand "Feeling like I am home"
