Of the two resorts you mention, White Sands looks to be a very casual place. There is a seawall, so you can't walk from the sand right into the water, if that is important to you. Grand Caribe is an upscale resort, and there is a good portion of the beach without a seawall, so you can walk right into the water. I suspect GC is more expensive than WS. Both are north of the bridge, and you'd most likely want a golf cart to explore town, as others have said. Hard to believe, but not everyone wants to get around solely on bikes like we do! grin

I have seen a very little and cozy small resort which is located right next door to White Sands Cove.

the name is: Cocotal Inn & Cabanas

You can look up their website at: www.cocotalbelize.com

They are ranked #2 on the Specialty Lodging section on Trip Advisor.

It's a great, friendly, clean and beautiful small piece of property (beachfront property) - although it does have a seawall.

just another option.

I second that............a very nice well kept place with a great dock!

I'm happier than a pig in s__t...a foot on the sand...and a Belikin in my hand!
