Oh geez, sika. You should have mentioned that you were Canadian. If you really like your Cdn. smokes, then definitely get them in Edmonton.

However, if you can live with Benson and Hedges or an American brand, buy them at the duty free in Houston. I bought a carton of Benson & Hedges in Houston duty free for $20 and change (US dollars).

Actually, as far as the B&H go, I can't remember how much they cost in Belize. Pedro? A little help please.

Sika - didn't mean to sound like a rules and regulations type of person, but have found risk to be greater than the tiny percentage in duty you usually have to pay! Not sure how it is in Canada, but last thing I want is to be put on the U.S. Customs watch list so I get selected for search every time I re-enter the country!

Trivial note for those interested--up until the change in BZ government three years ago, you could indeed purchase at the BZ duty free shop COMING IN to the country. Curiously, the change was concurrent with a doubling (or more) of the price of distilled spirits on the caye. One need not be a nuclear scientist to figure that out.

rumor has it that a dollar bill works as well as a machine. Just fold the bill, stick the paper in the middle of the fold, fill with tobacco, then use the dollar to roll up and perfect the cylinder....

I don't smoke of course, but have seen it done in Jamaica (not by Jamaicans, they can use one hand in 80 mph wind - and still roll a perfect cigarette!)
