If you or any of your friends or relatives are travelling home to Belize between now and the end of December, and you want to carry a HAM and/or TURKEY with you - this information is relevant:

The Ministry of Agriculture has authorized a temporary waiver of import permit and permit fee for importation of one ham and/or turkey per adult traveller (to be for personal use only) into Belize when entering the Phillip Goldson International Airport ONLY for the period November 25 to December 31, 2009. The only charge will be a $10.00 inspection fee per item to BAHA (Belize Agricultural Health Authority). The ham and/or turkey has to be USDA inspected/certified (stamped to verify) for BAHA to allow entry.

This has the potential for some funny travel stories.
Back in the day, Honduras permitted travelers to carry frozen foods. On a SAHSA (Stay at Home Stay Alive) flight from Miami we hit some turbulence and frozen birds were tumbling from the overhead bins when we realized this must be the reason people referred to these as "guajolotero" flights.
