Ingredients:

Filling:
1 coconut (grated)
1/2 can condensed milk
1/2 nutmeg grated
2 tbsp vanilla essence
2 tsp sugar

Pastry:
2 cups flour
1/2 lb shortening
Cold water

Method :
Combine flour,shortening and crumble.

Add water a little at a time to make dough.

Grease muffin tin and line with dough.

If you have a fresh coconut break coconut and use the white part of coconut.

Grate coconut and add condensed milk along with nutmeg, vanilla and coloring.

Mix well put one tablespoon of filling in each lined muffin tin.

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 400*

A Scrumptious Coconut Tart


Coconut lovers will rejoice in the delights of this wonderful baked treat. These luscious little tartlets will have your mouth smiling with pleasure in every bite! Coconut Tart

Ingredients:

Filling:
  • 1 coconut, grated
  • 1/2 can condensed milk
  • 1/2 nutmeg, grated
  • 2 tbsp vanilla essence
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • Pastry:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 lb shortening
  • Cold water

Directions:

Combine flour, shortening and crumble. Add water a little at a time to make dough.
Grease muffin tin and line with dough.
Mix the grated coconut in a bowl and add condensed milk along with nutmeg, sugar and vanilla spices together.


Mix well and fill each dough-lined muffin tin with the yummy coconut goodness.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 400* or until these tasty morsels are golden brown on top.
Let cool and dig in!

Coconut Tart also called Coconut Crust

Dough:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • approximately 1/4 cup cold water

Filling:

  • 1 cup shredded, sweetened coconut
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence or vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
