Getting to Belize
Located in the Western Caribbean, Belize is the only country in
Central America with English as its official language. A quick,
non-stop flight from, Houston or Miami takes
you to Belize International Airport. A few minutes and you're
through customs and aboard a commuter plane for less than 15
minutes of flight time to San Pedro Town on Ambergris Caye.
Entry Requirements
Passports are required, but no VISA.
Currency
The exchange rate is fixed and stable. $1 U.S. = $2 Belize.
Either currency is accepted.
Electricity
Same as U.S., 120 Volts, 60 cycle so bring whatever items you
normally use at home.
Food
San Pedro's wide array of diverse restaurants, produce stands
and grocery stores will tempt every taste. You can purchase
fresh fish from the fisherman along with lobster and conch "in season", or
catch your own.
Dress
(No Shoes - No Shirt - No Problem)
Very casual . . . shorts or bathing suits and bare feet are the
norm.
What to do????
Savor . . . the world's second largest Barrier Reef by diving or
snorkeling, bone ... reef, or deep sea fishing, sailing, or windsurfing
Be picked up on the dock in front for an inland tour
of the Maya ruins or visit a jungle lodge for herbal wraps and massages. You can also canoe up the Macal River, visit the butterfly farms, 1000 ft. waterfalls, the Pine Ridge Mountains, the world's only Jaguar Reserve or a Belizean Style Zoo or just practice the fine art of RELAXATION!
