Does Verizon cell service work in Belize?

You don't have to contact Verizon.....just turn your Verizon cell phone on when you arrive and be prepared to pay $1.75 US per minute. The rate is $2.85 per minute for voice, because that is the rate the agreed to with BTL. The international calling plan isn't "free", it's about $4.00/month and then while in Belize I'm at either .35 or .38/minute, but what I really like is that I get those rates while I'm in the states and calling friends who live in Belize.

There are several places on the island where you can rent telephones. Just walk along front or middle street and keep your eyes open....
Verizon now offers TravelPass, which allows you to use your voice/data plan as you would in the states for $10/day.
