Working in Belize

A lot of people state that they want to come to Belize to work and I believe it is the duty of people here to tell them the hard truths about working in Belize, viz:

• Work permits are needed, even for online work
• You can’t get a permit to work in a job that a Belizean can do
• Even if you get a job, the pay will be poor compared what you’re used to / what you need to live
• There are some categories of residence under which you just cannot work in Belize, ie QRP
• If you still want to work come and set up a business and then coach others to work in that.
