Make-up Artist prepares Armand Assante for
scene
|
Trimark Productions made its way to
La Isla Bonita this past weekend to continue the filming of the
movie After the Storm. The crew,
consisting of locals and foreigners amounting to over seventy people,
arrived via Maya Island Air from Placencia. Caribbean Queen Freight
Services was responsible for transporting their large containers,
totaling seven trailers packed with cameras, equipment, wardrobe and all
the necessary amenities needed to do the filming. One trailer was packed
to capacity with over 500 pieces of clothing and 100 pairs of footwear,
all designed to the style of the 1930's when this movie is supposed to
take place.

Wardrobe Technicians play a big
part in the filming

In addition, pick-up trucks and cars were also shipped in to
facilitate their transportation needs during their stay here.
On location for the filming, the San
Pedro Sun had an opportunity to speak to Mr. Franz
Moguel, Key Production Assistant for the movie. He told the
Sun that approximately forty locals had
been used already as extras (three with speaking roles) and it is
estimated that over 100 more will be used. He mentioned that in Placencia
three different scenes were shot - on a beach, in a hut and on a boat.

| The filming in San Pedro started Monday,
March 20th and is
expected to take 21 days. Filming begins at 5 a.m., lasting up to 12
hours a day and will include a variety of underwater scenes with a
possible town scene. Of the over 200 persons who auditioned for the San
Pedro filming, three have already been chosen and started work this week.
The bulk of the group, consisting of approximately 48, will be called
upon next week. After filming in San Pedro is over, the crew will head to
Belize City to wrap up production in about two weeks.
After the Storm will be the first movie
to be filmed in its entirety in Belize and hopefully will receive rave
reviews.
