Organizers of the Miss Chiquitita Pageant
have announced May 6th
as the date for this year's event. The pageant scheduled to be held last
year was cancelled because of so many town activities. Miss Chiquitita
2000 promises to be worth the wait and will feature contestants ages six
to eight years old. Five charming young girls will vie for the title at
Central Park. The five participants will make appearances in swimsuit and
evening wear and feature group dances and individual talent
presentations. Other surprise performances will entertain throughout the
pageant.
The five young contestants are as follows. Six
year-old Ilsa Gabriela Nuñez, an Infant I student at San Pedro Roman
Catholic School and a member of Barbara's Dance Group. Kristy Marin is a
seven year-old student of San Pedro Roman Catholic School and a member of
the San Pedro Dance Company. Rocio Ruiz is a six year-old Infant I
student at Lydia's Institute of Fine Education and a member of the San
Pedro Dance Company. Thalia Pech is a seven year-old Standard III student
at San Pedro Roman Catholic School who also enjoys dancing. The fifth
contestant is eight year-old Lizette Vasquez, a Standard I student at
Lydia's Institute of Fine Education and a member of the San Pedro Dance
Company who enjoys modeling.
