Dr. Wil Lala and family with Pilot Mike Kuhn after reef trip

Belize is fortunate, for many reasons, to be home to the longest unbroken barrier reef in the world. Even if you are not a diver or a snorkeler but would simply like to revel in the panoramic view of the largest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere, Tropic Air has arranged this for you.

Now every Wednesday, you have the opportunity to step aboard a specifically equipped Cessna Caravan and be part of an awe-inspiring aerial adventure. The trip departs San Pedro at 10:30 a.m. bound for, not only the Blue Hole (made famous by world-renown ocean explorer Jacques Cousteau), but three of only four magnificent atolls to be found in the Caribbean Sea. In addition to this, you can enjoy a bird's eye view of various cayes, Lighthouse Reef, Turneffe and the Belize mainland.  From the air, one can observe shipwrecks, see a rainbow of colors and spot a variety of sea creatures. The one-hour flight is narrated, so sit back, relax, and listen to the explanation of the various formations, marine and geographic descriptions and how the mariners of the past describe some of their historic experiences. Pieces of lively ethnic music are also pleasantly blended into this narration.

The San Pedro Sun was pleased to be on a maiden voyage and recommends it to anyone for a marvelous ride. It featured beautiful scenery, was wonderfully informative and truly a unique experience. For more information or to make reservations, call 026-2012 or email: [email protected].
