Barefoot Skinny with Jo Mama

A benefit "jam session" last Saturday night at Fido's Bar was a welcome surprise to members of SAGA, who were presented with $700 for their cause. Malcolm Hitchcock of Fido's announced that members of "Jo Mama," a group of musicians visiting from the US were donating their "tip jar" earnings to SAGA, the local humane society. Jo Mama, a group of four friends, led by Paul Coverelli, travel from Trunkee, California to Ambergris Caye nearly every year to dive and almost always perform for charity while they're here. A special treat for many is their Rhythm and Blues style of music, not often heard in San Pedro. All the members have played together in the past, but now perform in other bands, except when they reunite on the island.

Joining the lively musicians were local entertainer "Barefoot Skinny" on drums and keyboards, and the group's lawyer, Laslow on "percussion fruit". Many thanks to everyone who donated and all involved as they "rocked the house" for all types of "stray cats" that night!
