Lack of
funds have delayed completion of the hospital
|
Mr. Larry Addington of Caye Chapel has once
again pledged his financial support for the completion of the San Pedro Lions
Inter-Community Hospital. On February 11th, 2001, chief fundraiser for the
hospital Mr. Ramon Nuñez traveled to Caye Chapel where he was escorted to the
Club House to meet with Mr. Additington and his engineer to discuss the present
situation of the hospital. As many may already know, Mr. Addington was one of
the first contributors to this project, donating $200,000. He feels that the
completion of this hospital is very important and will benefit the people of San
Pedro, Caye Caulker and his guests at Caye Chapel. During the meeting, he
pledged his support to make this dream come true and offered his engineer's
services to head the project. On
Monday, January 12th, the
engineer accompanied by his wife and foreman met with Mr. Ramon Nuñez, Hospital
Chairman Beto Marin and Mr. Darrel Cloud. The engineer was impressed by what has
been accomplished so far and looked at what was needed to complete the hospital.
After more studies are done, the necessary financing will be presented to Mr.
Addington for his approval. Mr. Addington has also solicited the services of Mr.
Michael Fox, Certified Public Accountant to manage the accounts of the project.
Mr. Ramon Nuñez happily commented that thanks to the
great support of Mr. Addington, the San Pedro Lions Inter-Community Hospital
will soon be a reality.
