San Pedro's
newest musical masterpiece, "Down by the Ocean," has finally been released by
Dennis Wolfe - one of "La Isla Bonita's" most popular
singer/songwriter/performers. Famous for his hit "Just another Gringo in
Belize," Dennis compiles his "honky-tonk music," with a little blues (Darker Blues) and blue grass (If The
Creek Don't Rise) on this most recent collection of sweet and
sassy songs. Recorded in-house at Sunshine Studios,
Dennis Wolfe describes his second compilation as "a reflection of my roots,"
which began in the swamplands of South Georgia and North Florida. He explained
that most of the songs were inspired by his experiences in Belize and reveal a
variety of musical styles including Rhythm and Blues, Gospel, Country and
Western, and good old Rock and Roll. "Five of the songs were originally written
as an instructional guide for this guy I was teaching. He needed different
examples of musical styles for the guitar, so I came up with my own, Wolfe told
The San Pedro Sun. "Elvis is Alive" and the title song, "Down by the Ocean" are said to be
the local favorites. His signature song, "Gringo in Belize," performed by
world-renowned recording artist Jerry Jeff Walker, is also included on Maestro
Wolfe's latest effort. Always a "work of art in progress,"
Wolfe commented he is already working on a remix of these songs with a variety
of local artists comprising guitar, banjo, drum and harmonica players. The
artwork for "Down by the Ocean" was created by Wolfe's wife and partner,
Dulce. "Down by the Ocean" is available on CD at finer
gift shops and hotels on the island. Persons interested in mail ordering Wolfe's
latest collection may do so by contacting him at

with his wife Dulce and two children, Melody (18) and Dennisito
(12).
