In this day and age when everyone is competing for the
tourist dollars, the key to keeping clients content is service, service
and more service. Without a doubt, San Pedro has heard this message and
many businesses strive for only the utmost in customer service and
relations. This week, The San Pedro Sun
is pleased to introduce a young woman who is a natural
when it comes to providing residents and visitors with the most
professional customer service - Susana Flores.
Susana was born and raised in the picturesque town of
San Vicente, El Salvador on August
11 th, 1969 to Teresa
Ayala and Francisco Carmona. The oldest of three children, Susana was a
role model for her younger siblings. As she grew up she attended
elementary and high school graduating with honors from the Instituto
Nacional Doctor Sorbelio Navarette. Her excellent school grades gained
Susana a scholarship to attend Coffeyville Community College in Kansas,
USA, where she obtained an Associates Degree in Computer Sciences in
1990.
After completing her education, Susana moved to Los
Angeles, California where she was employed as a customer relations agent
for Host International at the Los Angeles Airport. After a year of living
"life in the fast lane," Susana visited the Cayo District at the
invitation of a Belizean student she had met in Kansas.
In August of 1991, Susana landed on Belizean soil and
moved to San Ignacio. While in Cayo, Susana was offered a job at Clear
Print Products where she worked for one year as a graphic artist. It was
here that Susana also met her future husband, Salvador Flores. Susana and
Salvador joined their lives in Holy Matrimony shortly after on February
15 th, 1992, and that
union has produced two lovely children: Jessica (9) and Ryan (2).
In 1992, Susana and her family moved to "La Isla
Bonita" in hopes of a better way of life. She was first employed for a
year and a half as a front desk agent at the SunBreeze Hotel and also
worked part time for the late Darrell Cloud. In 1995, she was hired as
the office manager for Travel and Tour Belize, a position she still holds
today. During her employment at Travel and Tour Belize, Susana has
participated in various workshops. She has not only improved her public
relations skills, but learned several new and advanced techniques
associated with the travel industry. Although she has received many
certificates of completion and letters of recognition from the various
agents she has dealt with, Susana says her biggest reward comes from the
sincere thanks she gets from her many satisfied customers.
Over the years, Susana and her family have been
able to build their home on Ambergris Caye, and today they also own a
small grocery store (Divina Providencia) in the Escalante Subdivision.
Susana stated that moving to San Pedro has been the best choice she has
ever made and that this island will be her home forever. In her spare
time, Susana enjoys making improvements to and decorating her home, and
also takes pleasure strolling around town with her children.
A very charismatic and dedicated professional, Susana
Flores is pleased to provide "happy trails" for the many clients who plan
to "travel and tour" in and outside of "Our Community."
