Emily Verde - Miss San Pedro Lions Queen 2003-2004

Charming Emily Verde was officially crowned Miss San Pedro Lions 2003-2004 last Saturday at a special coronation ceremony held at the Lions Den.

Performing as Master of Ceremonies for the event was San Pedro Lions President Francisco Verde who welcomed the congregation present for this grand occasion.

Throughout the evening the public was entertained by the talented dancers of Barbara's Dance Group and the San Pedro Dance Company. A special presentation then followed featuring the 2002-2003 Belize Lions Zone 59 Queen Sherima Usher from Dangriga, who was accompanied by her sister Taryn.

When the awaited moment arrived, the reigning Miss San Pedro Lions Queen Debbie Graniel illuminated the stage with her presence. In her farewell speech Debbie thanked the San Pedro Lions Club for giving her the opportunity to represent their club both nationally and internationally. She continued saying that the experience had been very enjoyable and educational as she had the opportunity to meet with many dignitaries and make many friends.

In her acceptance speech, incoming queen Emily Verde pledged to do her best to represent the San Pedro Lions Club at the upcoming national convention to be held in Belize City in April, and throughout her year of reign. Emily is the daughter of Pinita and Francisco Verde. She is presently a student at St. John's College Junior College and also a member of the San Pedro Dance Company. To wrap up the evening in style, the newly crowned and the outgoing Miss San Pedro Lions queens presented a special dance, much to the delight of the crowd.

Through this medium the San Pedro Lions Club would like to thank all the dancers, the people who donated the tasty food, and everyone who attended.
