Belize District Champions - San Pedro R.C. School Boys
|
Congratulations to the San Pedro Roman Catholic School Boys' Football Team who
proved to be the best during the "Under 15" competition held last Wednesday at
the MCC Grounds in Belize City. The island boys walked away with the title of
District Champions after defeating the St. Martin de Porres boys by a score of
2-0. Scoring the winning goals were David Maldonado and Bernaldino Westby. In
addition to taking the championship, San Pedro's David Maldonado was also voted
the competition's Most Valuable Player. The San Pedro
Roman Catholic School Boys have been on a winning spree since the beginning of
the football competition which started in December of last year. The RC School
boys and girls first won the island competition and then moved on to the Belize
Rural South championship. Both the RC School boys' and girls' teams outshined
all other teams during a football marathon held in Sandhill on February
18th.
The island boys have now earned the title of representing the entire Belize
District at the upcoming National Championship scheduled for sometime this
month. Through this medium, Principal Roxani Kay of San
Pedro Roman Catholic School would like to express her gratitude to Coach
Humberto Cob and Assistant Coach Carlos Coba for leading the boys to this
victory. Special thanks also to all the supporters and sponsors. Anyone wishing
to sponsor the San Pedro Roman Catholic School football team may contact
Principal Kay at 226-2550.
