Only three weeks
into their 2003 Fund Drive, Saga Humane Society has already received more
than $5,000BZ in pledges towards their $25,000BZ goal. This week, Society
volunteers will persist in their fundraising quest by beginning the
"follow-up" segment of their campaign. Businesses and individuals who
previously received letters in the mail will be contacted for a response
to this request for support. The result of these efforts will hopefully
hasten the humane society's plans to purchase land and build a proper
animal and educational center for the community. Currently, Saga Society
finances the island's only veterinary clinic as a means of providing
health services for the animals of the island.
