Linda Chorney

San Pedro has a reputation for colorful nightlife and snazzy live music. Recently, it seems that word of mouth has extended all the way to the United States of America.

Last week, the island was proud to welcome musical artist Linda Chorney, from New York City, who displayed her spectacular vocal skills along with San Pedro's own local talent, Category X. Ms Chorney's vacation in San Pedro also included diving, and experiencing almost everything that the island had to offer.

Ms. Chorney, a professional singer for the last 15 years, broke the Top 40 (at number 31) Adult Contemporary Music list last year with her hit album, "Living Alone." She is the talented author of three CDs entitled, "My Blunt Instrument," "Racing with Reality" and her latest creation "Me So Chorney." Well-traveled, Ms. Chorney has also shared her vocal talent on visits to the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, Europe and Alaska.

Linda Chorney is currently writing a book entitled, I only sleep with people who can't help me ("like diving instructors"). She plans to include a chapter about her favorite part of San Pedro. This, she states will read, "The most action I got while in San Pedro was blowing on a chicken's butt at the Chicken Drop held at Pier Lounge."

Linda Chorney left last Sunday to visit the mainland, but wishes to thank the people of San Pedro for their support during her visit. She would also like to thank her friend Tracey Monahan from Continental Airlines, for enticing her to spend a fabulous week with the friendly people of Ambergris Caye.
