Miss San Pedro 2003-2004 Tatiana Rivero

After waiting for
what must have seemed an eternity to the five lovely young ladies
competing, cheers echoed throughout Central Park last Saturday evening,
as Miss Tatiana Rivero was named Miss San Pedro 2003-2004. A large number
of people were gathered to witness this glamorous pageant held to choose
San Pedro's newest ambassador.
The night opened with a special performance by
Barbara's Dance Group and continued with plenty of entertainment. The
contestants: Tatiana Rivero, Gladys Urbina, Yesmyn Galvez, Sheena Torres
and Velia Pech then performed together in a dance presentation before
appearing in their casual wear. Next, the crowd was entertained
by presentations
by the San Pedro Dance Company and Barbara's Dance Group. Finally, the
contestants made their last appearance adorned in evening wear. During
this time, the contestants took the opportunity to chat with the emcees
before answering their final questions.
Besides being the new Miss San
Pedro, Tatiana Rivero was also chosen Miss Photogenic. She received a
Sixth Form scholarship sponsored by the San Pedro Town Council, a
mahogany chair, dinner for two, a gift basket, a $200 savings account, a
watch, a purse, a silver chain, a body lotion set and a $100 gift
certificate.
Velia Pech was selected as the first runner up
and was also given the title of Miss Amity by her fellow contestants.
Velia received a cash prize of $550, lunch for two, a gift certificate, a
picture frame, a bottle of perfume and a blow dryer.
Gladys Urbina was named second runner up and
also received the title of Miss Physique. Gladys received a cash prize of
$200, an overnight stay for two, a 50% discount on golf cart rental, one
manicure, one pedicure and a bottle of perfume.
Yesmyn Galvez and Sheena Torres each received a gift
certificate and a cash prize of $100 each.
