It seems Belize has been
in headlines worldwide ever since the selection of the new Miss Belize,
Leilah Pandy. Most recently, our beauty ambassador has highlighted our
country's name at prestigious events such as the International Costa Maya
Pageant and last month at the Miss Mesoamerica International Pageant held
in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
On December
6th, 2003, yet another
Belizean beauty is expected to shine, this time on stage at the Miss
World Pageant to be held in Sanya, China. Miss Dalilah Vanzie, first
runner-up in the Miss Belize Pageant, will depart the first week of
November to represent the Belizean people at this prestigious pageant.
Miss Vanzie's trip is being financed by Pageants Belize and various
sponsors from the business community.
According to reliable sources, pageant organizers are
going out of their way to ensure that this year's pageant is a first
class-act. Further information revealed that the Chinese delegation in
charge of the pageant is building a state-of-the-art stage - a
replication of the Miss World crown.
Miss Vanzie is originally from Belize
City and presently works as a dental surgeon at the Southern Regional
Hospital in Dangriga.
