There is great news for those who enjoy a quick trip to the western part of Belize, as Maya Island Air will soon begin regularly scheduled flights to Belmopan City and the Cayo District. According to General Manager Fernando Trejo of Maya Island Air, regular flights to both destinations will begin on December 15th, 2003. A one-way trip from San Pedro to the Hector Silva Airstrip in Belmopan will cost patrons $150, or $300 for a roundtrip ticket. The next stop will be the Mathew Spain Airstrip (named after San Pedro Town Councilor Mel Spain's father) in Cayo. The flight to this airstrip from San Pedro will cost $186 one-way or $372 round trip.

To promote quality service for their clients, Maya Island Air has come up with a new flight and route schedule for Cayo. Interested persons may call or stop by their offices for more details on this new service.
