Dalila Vanzie in China
|
Press Release - Sanya, China - November 26, 2003 - Miss Belize
World, Dalila Vanzie and the rest of the Miss World delegates are back
in Sanya on the island of Hainan, China. This marks the end of their
tour of China and the start of the exciting countdown to the finals
this Saturday, December 6th. Since arriving in Sanya, Dalila has been
interviewed for the Miss World Scholarship Award, auditioned for the
Talent Award, and also participated in the Beach Wear competition. She
apparently did very well in the scholarship interview and her
interviewers were very surprised at her "down-to-earth" nature, given
her number of accomplishments at such a young age. Her karaoke
rendition of "La Isla Bonita" was met with loud applause and it is felt
that she has a very good chance of making the Talent Award Finals (held
last Friday, November 28th). The results of the beachwear competition
will not be known until the Finals Night on December 6th. Her big test
comes this week when she faces the judges in an extended interview in
which she appears in her evening gown.
Dalila continues to make Belize proud in Sanya.
HongKongBeauties.com, another highly respected pageant web site, in
their last evaluation of the delegates, gave her 3 ‡ stars (only four
other delegates received a higher ranking) and commented: ".... A
delegate (that) needs to be watched (out) for. She is very well-spoken,
intelligent, and well-educated. She's also a great singer! She is
probably the best representative from Belize ever!"
This weekend, the Miss World UDecide Program kicks off. It will be
aired live on Sky One TV from England, Televisa from Mexico and TV J
from Jamaica. All are urged to tune into these channels if carried by
local cable operators and also to visit Dalila's web sites at
http://www.missbelizeworld.com, http://www.dalilavanzie.com and
http://www.missbelize.bz for exciting up-to-the-minute news, updates
and to cast their vote. There are now two voting options available:
online voting (using a credit card and costing US$1.69 per vote) and
telephone voting. You can vote as many times as you like (and you are
also urged to encourage your family and friends abroad to vote for
Dalila). The web site(s) will provide instructions for you on what to
do.
Note: Local time in Sanya, China is 14 hours ahead of Central
Standard Time (which is the same as local time in Belize).
