ABC Pre-Schoolers learned about farming, fruits, vegetables, and about giving thanks to God during Harvest Week.

The ABC Pre-School teachers are always full of imagination, coming up with different and unique ways to make learning fun. The Pre-School is always buzzing with activities, holding events such as plays, fairs, field trips and many other events involving the students, their parents, and the community. Some basic forms of education follow a simple rule, and consist of a new topic featured at the beginning of each week. Examples of these topics are colors, shapes, letters, numbers, days of the week, animals/pets, fruits and vegetables, etc.

During the week of October 18th-22nd, 2004 the school's topic was "Harvest week." On Friday, Principal Wil Alamilla Jr. asked parents to dress their children in farm clothing. The "ABC farmers" arrived wearing straw hats and boots, carrying rakes and shovels. Baskets of fruits and vegetables were also brought in order to give the school the appearance of "Harvest Time." A special part of their morning activities included "circle time" where the children learned about harvesting, farmers and about giving thanks to God for everything they have. The pre-scholars recited a new prayer, Thank you for the world so sweet, Thank you for the birds that sing, Thank you for the food we eat, Thank you God for everything.

ABC Pre-School has also planned their Annual Halloween Bazaar, which will take place this Saturday, October 31st, 2004 at the school grounds. The fun is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m. There will be food for sale including a bake sale, games such as tombola and fishpond, prizes for the best costumes in different categories, and a grand raffle. Tickets for the Bazaar and the raffle can be purchased at the school at a cost of $1 for children and $2 for adults.

Proceeds from the Bazaar will benefit ABC Pre-School programs, projects and activities throughout the school year. So, parents bring your little goblins out for fun that will leave you haunting, and wanting more!!
