T host of industry stakeholders, distinguished guests and friends gathered last Friday, December 3rd, to honor recipients of the Fifth Annual National Tourism Awards. The lavish award ceremony was held at the Belize Biltmore Plaza and marked the culmination of Tourism Awareness Week, which was celebrated from November 29th through December 3rd. The National Tourism Awards were established by the Belize Tourism Board to recognize individuals, organizations and businesses in Belize for their extraordinary performance for giving excellent service, and making significant contributions to the tourism industry.
During the awards, one business and one individual from Ambergris Caye were recognized this year; Moncho's Auto Rental was awarded the Receptive Service of the Year award because of their consistent quality of services rendered to the tourism industry and Mr. Allan Foreman, a premier pioneer of "La Isla Bonita" was presented the Minister's Award.
