The program kicked off with Lion Member Eiden Salazar calling the members and guests to order, after which Lion Abel Guerrero recited an invocation. The ceremony continued with the National Anthem and President Nita Marin taking the podium to give a beautiful and heartfelt welcoming address.

New members were inducted with open arms to the Lion family; these proud new members are Nelly Sabido, Steve Demaio, and Leonel Reyes Jr.

Lion Baldemar Graniel Sr. was Guest Speaker for the event and gave a very enthusiastic speech that lifted the members’ spirit.

The installation of the new Queen filled the event with beauty, poise and charm as outgoing Queen Nicole Nuñez took to the stage. Accompanying Miss Nuñez on stage was Miss Staines. After happily receiving her crown, Miss who said, “It is a great honor to be crowned the queen, and I promise to represent the Lion’s club in the best way I can.”

A brief award ceremony followed with Mr. Roque Salazar being presented the 25 years Monarch Chevron Recognition. Presented by President Marin, this recognition is given to Lions who are punctual with their payments and are always supporting all club projects. Mr. Salazar has been an affiliate member since January 6th, 1979 and was given the honor to vote in club matters.

The following award was presented to an exemplary Lion, one who is always present for meetings and other special events, and always supports his club – the Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Lion Felipe Paz (Tio Pil).

The following pin was presented to immediate Past President Lion Milo Paz Jr. President Marin stated, “For a positive net increase of two members during 2003/04, the president will receive credit of one diamond. For net gain of four members, the pin will bear two diamonds, three diamonds for an increase of six lions, four diamonds for an increase of eight new members and a maximum of five diamonds, the highest level of the challenge, for net gain of ten or more Lions during the year. However, in June 2004, Dr. Lee envisioned the day when they will wear the pin with pride and reflected on how the diamonds represent a challenge. […] He announced his intention to recognize a selected member of highly successful club presidents by awarding the “President’s Diamond Challenge Pin.” With his efforts, it made up a positive net growth internationally of 8292 new lion members. Lion Paz’s great accomplishments also lead to the recent recognition of two more international awards to the San Pedro Lions Club. President Marin has been invited to receive on behalf of the San Pedro Lions Club, the international Academy Award as one of the three finalists presented by Lions Club International in the Club of the Year in South America, Central America, Mexico & Islands of the Caribbean Sea Category.
