In a live telephone conversation, direct from Hong Kong, Milo Paz Jr. called in to the Morning Show on Wednesday to inform the town of San Pedro that the San Pedro Lion's Club was awarded the International Academy Award for club of the year in the South America, Central America, Mexico and islands of the Caribbean Sea category. At the time of Milo's call the award ceremony had not yet announced Lion of the Year, which he is a candidate for.
Approximately 22,000 members of Lions Clubs International and their families are in Hong Kong for the association's 88th International Convention, which runs from June 27, through Friday, July 1. Convention events will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and the Hong Kong Coliseum.
