The committee was formed as a liaison group to facilitate communication between the San Pedro Town Council, the Police Department, Neighborhood Watches, the Justices of the Peace and other civic organizations to better combat crime. Their many goals include to provide: proper police equipment, police housing, Special Constable training and stipend, training for police and Special Constables, public surveillance cameras, establish a Reward Program, and stronger sentences, penalties and bail amounts.

   It is their belief that with the assistance of the general public these agendas can be met. A booklet explaining what each program aims to accomplish and monies necessary to accomplish is available. The booklet also forms as a way to educate people so that they may know exactly where the money that they donate will go towards.

   Although most of the points specified require some funding there are a few that the ACSC plans to implement requiring no money whatsoever. Those include: increase controls of late night loitering, to lobby Belmopan for a Special Service Officer, increase the number of Neighborhood Watches, to have police screening of new arrivals/check point at Boca del Rio Ferry/Bridge, Street Vendor Program, and the Youth Program.

   The members of this committee are the Honorable Manuel Heredia, Mayor Elsa Paz, Inspector of Police Juachim Sabal, Baldemar Graniel, Steve Schulte, Eiden Salazar, Ramon Nunez, Tom Vidrine, Doug Campbell, Steve Spiro, Einer Gomez, Jules Escalante, Ali Flota, Brent Kirkman, Evan Vernon and Eddie Halliday.
