Children’s Day is to celebrate “childhood”. On this day, tribute is payed to all children in the world. Children are loved by one and all; they win over our hearts with their angelic eyes and innocent smiles. It is celebrated worldwide but in a school level and on Friday, schools across the nation observed this day for the kids by hosting many activities and functions. The RC school in San Pedro for instance made their day fun by hosting a “field day” where the kids got to compete against their fellow mates in an all day sports event.

The day kicked off with a small ceremony at the school campus where Mayoress Elsa Paz made a celebratory speech on their grand day. The school was broken up into several divisions; the lower and middle students went over the old football field for a day of traditional contests and games. The upper division stayed at the campus and used the 5-a-side for football and basketball matches. From balloon tag, watermelon eating contest, egg and spoon, slow bike race, tug of war to sack race, the kids were surely entertained. Ribbons were given out to first, second and third place winners.
