In keeping with Child Stimulation Month, the San Pedro Pre-school held cultural day at the school grounds. Pre-schoolers arrived at school dressed in various ethnic clothing. Throughout the week, students were taught the various cultures that make up the melting pot that is Belize. Not only were they taught about the various cultures but they were taught the specifics of each, such as, the clothing they wear and what they eat. Children arrived dressed as Mestizos, Garifuna, Chinese, Mennonites and others.
As part of the celebration, Little Angels Pre-school last Friday held Flag Day. During the week, students were taught the Belizean flag, its colors and symbols. On the final day, children dressed in red, blue and white paraded through the streets of San Pedro.
And on Wednesday, the ABC Pre-school held a nature walk where the young tykes learned about their environment and got to experience it first hand during their walk.
Child Stimulation month comes to a close at the end of March.
