Plans are underway for the 11th annual Reef Festival and the community is invited to come out and celebrate this special day. The festival, scheduled for Sunday, April 22nd, will coincide with Earth Day and the final day of the Ambergris Caye Eco-Challenge Lagoon race. The day promises to be a fun- filled family event for all.
School teams are invited to enter the Sand Castle building competition and students will be able to enter a presentation competition depicting this year’s theme: Not Loss or Destruction; But Conservation and Protection. Not only will awards be presented in these categories but outstanding classrooms will be recognized as well and great prizes will be awarded to the winners.
The day will include children’s games and activities along with glass-bottom boat rides, great food, volleyball games, beverages, entertainment and music. The crowd will be on hand to cheer on the kayak competitors as they cross the finish line and enjoy the award ceremony for the winners.
Schools will soon be receiving information about the competitions and how to participate. For more information or if you are interested in helping with this event please call Tamara at The San Pedro Sun at 226-2070 or Wil Alamilla at ABC Preschool at 226-3070.
