Always spreading Christmas cheer, the San Pedro Lions Club was in full swing enjoying the festivities. At this time of year, senior citizens and the young at heart are celebrated and revel in what has become a tradition for the San Pedro Lionís Club. That practice was repeated on Friday, December 21st, when seniors were treated to a special traditional Christmas dinner and party at the Lionís Den.
This annual event runs in conjunction with similar activities carried out by Lions Club all over the world, it recognizes the contributions that seniors make in their communities. The den was in full gear and Belize Bank personnel awaited their most important guests. Twenty eight guests were made comfortable and were offered some liquid refreshment. The mood was set! Everyone had been provided with a drink, or two (not all alcoholic) then began to bring on the festive fare. A splendid turkey dinner prepared especially for them to enjoy. Many took the time to thank the Lion members for their continued patronage towards them. After this magnificent feast, everybody settled down for the entertainment. The Rompe Raja band was on hand to set the mood right. With cheery music flowing through the air itís no wonder it brought out several happy feet to the dance floor. Young at heart, the senior citizens surely enjoyed every minute of it. As per usual, each participant received a gift that was donated by the friends, club members and other local businesses.
The senior citizens party was yet another joyous occasion and goes down in the history books of the Lions as another success story.
In addition to this dinner, the Lionís club also spread the joy of Christmas by going around the streets of San Pedro for a night of caroling. The San Pedro Lions Club would like to thank all the entertainers for making the evening a success and a special thank you to our special guests for their participation. The San Pedro Lions Club wishes everyone a Prosperous New Year 2008!
