Melanie Paz.

Having grown up amongst Lion members, Lion Melanie Paz has dedicated approximately eight years in the Lionism service in San Pedro Town. Following in the footsteps of her father, Lion Paz continues dedicating her time unselfishly to the community she loves so much. This coming Friday, Lion Paz will be installed as the San Pedro Lionsí President for the period of 2009-2010. Her new Board of Directors will also be installed during the short ceremony to be held at the Lionís Den commencing at 8:00 p.m.

Having served as Director and Vice President, Lion Paz is eager to take up the new post and has already established a plan for the upcoming three months. One of her top priorities is to revive the flailing Lions spirit on the island. ďI saw the need of a president who would be 100% committed to the club and its members. The club has been faltering for the past four years and I know I am capable to bring the club back. Of course, this is no easy task and for it to happen I will need Lion members to remember why they became involved in this great International organization,Ē explained incoming President Paz.

Already included in the upcoming Lions Agenda is the hosting of Noche San Pedrana which will take place on August 1st, 2009, followed by the Lions participation on the Tres Pescados Slam Tournament. These future events along with others are sure to make a busy year for the Lions Club under Lion Pazís leadership. The San Pedro Sun joins the community and the members of the San Pedro Lions Club in congratulating Lion Melanie Paz in her newly chosen endeavor and wish her all the best for a successful year.
