In one of the incidents, an intoxicated Ack tried assaulting a woman after breaking the glass door at the entrance of her place of work.

Abuse and assault against women is becoming a norm in the weekly news headlines. In San Pedro, it is no exception. In less than a week, at least three women including a minor were assaulted on the island.

In the fist incident Gilbert Alamilla told Police that about 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday October 7th, whilst at his business place namely Sheny’s Store on Pescador Drive a male person of Hispanic decent came to his business place. Alamilla went on to tell police that the man, whom he has known for the past 10 years was apparently highly under the influence of alcohol when he arrived at his establishment. Alamilla claims that the man asked for his wife Magdalena Chi who refused to see him and closed the glass door to the store in an effort to prevent him from entering. The male person identified as 37-year-old Ricardo Ack was determined to go into the store so he punched the glass door breaking it. As a result Ack sustained cut wounds. According to police the man then picked up a piece of the broken glass in an attempt to stab the woman. Chi managed to seek refuge in a near by store. According to witnesses at the scene, Ack managed to escape after a woman assisted Chi from being hit. Ack is being sought by police for charges of damage to property and aggravated assault.

In the second incident, the victim was not so lucky. 41-year-old domestic Eudenia “Deni” Eiley of a San Pablo Area Address was brutally beaten inside her home over the weekend. The victim told police that shortly after arriving home about 11:30 p.m. on Friday, she went to sleep. Sometime during the night she woke up and realized that she was unable to move. The victim went on to say that she noticed a short slim man of Hispanic decent next to her. The man began chocking her and she felt pain over her left eye. By day break, Eiley realized that she was on the floor of the living room completely nude and without strength to stand up or even yell for help feeling pain all over her body. Eiley told police that she tried to locate her cellular phone to call for help but realized that it was missing. Eiley claims that she remained on the floor until around 8:30 in the morning when she was found by her 17-year-old son. She was then aided by the Police and family members.

Eiley, who was hit during the incident, sustained bruises to the left side of her face, left eye and chest along with abrasions to her feet. Eiley told police that she was unable to recognize her attacker. On Saturday morning Eiley was transported to Belize City for further medical attention at the Belize Health Care Partners Limited and was admitted to ward until Monday, October 12th. The relevant evidence was gathered and submitted to the forensic laboratory in order to verify if any sexual aggression took place. No one has been arrested in relation to this incident and police continue their investigation.

On Sunday, the San Pedro Town community joined friends and family member of Deni Eiley at BC’s Bar and Grill to raise money which would aid Eiley in paying her hospital bills Members of the public that might have any information that can assist the police in their investigation are asked to contact the police department at 226-2022.

In the third incident, the accused culprit was not so lucky. According to San Pedro Police, they received a call for help from a woman in the San Pedrito Area early on Sunday morning.

A 13-year-old minor accompanied by her mother reported that about 3:45 a.m., she was awakened by someone touching her body. The minor told police that she recognized the male person who was bent over her bed and placed a knife to her throat. The culprit ordered her to keep quiet. He proceeded to offer her money while telling the minor that he loved her. The male ran out of the house and made good his escape after which the female minor then realized that she had a bite mark on her breast.

According to police the intruder gained entry through a window. Based on the description given, police arrested a 16-year-old male minor of the DFC Subdivision for the incident. The male was charged on Tuesday for Aggravated Burglary and Aggravated Assault.
