Last Friday, students of the San Pedro Roman Catholic School (SPRCS) took to the streets in celebration of Children’s Day. Throughout the island, other educational institutions held their own activities in honor of the special day which honors children worldwide.
The parade started at 9:00 a.m. and students depicted Belize’s flora and fauna, the culture, children and colors in the outfits which they wore and the placards which they held. All smiles the students were lead by the SPRCS drum core and dancers who entertained passers by through the principal streets of San Pedro.
In schools around the island, children enjoyed snacks, games and music throughout the day. ABC Pre-school celebrated with a Crazy Hair Day and had their students coming to school with pens and other items in their hair, hair colored silver, bronze, pink and other colors of the rainbow.
San Pedro Town joined the rest of the world in this celebration in honor of the future leaders of the world.
