  On Thursday, May 21st, the San Pedro Town Board held a meeting with members of the community to form a Bicentennial San Pedro Day Celebration Committee and to plan activities to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of San Pedro. The celebration will commence on Saturday, June 27th and concluded on Monday, June 29th - San Pedro Day. Activities for the 150th Anniversary celebration will be divided into three main sections: Educational, Entertainment and Religious. Educational activities will commence as of this issue of the San Pedro Sun. Each week the committee will provide information about San Pedro's history and educational activities leading up to the actual San Pedro Day. Entertainment activities will commence on May 27th and end on the night of the 28th. There will be mechanical games, live music, great food and lots of fun. Religious activities will commence with the observation of nine nights and on May 29th the mass for the men, breakfast, blessing of the fleet and procession will be carried out. The Bicentennial Celebration Committee members are: co-chairmen - Mayor Alberto Nuñez and Deputy Mayor Eiden Salazar, Treasurer - Mito Paz, Secretary - Lydia Chuc, Publicity Director - Patty Arceo, Religious Director - Shelly Hubert, Entertainment Director - Lily Nuñez and Educational Director - Peter Laws.
