Victoria House was the venue chosen for Miss
Jane McCarver's benefit art show and sale held last weekend. "Miss Jane"
is a local resident and wonderful artist who donated all the paintings.
The proceeds will aid the San Pedro Lions Club in building its Lions
Inter-Community Hospital.
On opening day, the art show was well attended and the
sales were very good. A total of seventy-six paintings decorated the
dining room at Victoria House for a total value of $10,000. At the end of
the third day, the exhibit's total sales came to $4,695. The paintings
that were not sold will be on exhibit and for sale at the Lions Den on
Friday, December 17th.
This is your last opportunity to take with you one of Miss Jane's
treasures. If, after Friday, some paintings are not purchased they will
occupy a special place in the new hospital to bring warmth and joy to the
patients.
The community of San Pedro and the San Pedro Lions
Club are thankful to Miss Jane McCarver for her generous contribution and
for sharing her talent. Special thanks go out to everyone that helped
make this event possible.
