Sari and Tom Vidrine present ferry tokens to ASP Orio

Sari and Tom Vidrine of the BoatYard's Island Ferry service recently made a contribution to the San Pedro Police Department. Island Ferry provides business and residential stops to the north and south of Ambergris Caye for the convenience of both islanders and visitors. Both Sari and Tom have been very active in the community since their arrival to San Pedro. They have donated $1000 worth of ferry tokens to be used by the police department for patrolling and/or policing the north and south ends of the island.

Their main goal is to provide the police department with a regular ferry to any of their stops making patrols more convenient for them. The Vidrine's hope is that this will influence the community to also get involved with the police to help battle the crime situation. Accepting the donation for the San Pedro Police Department was Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rudolph Orio. ASP Orio told the San Pedro Sun, "With more community involvement, the police department can go forward with its work. I appeal to the people of San Pedro, especially to those on the northern side, to focus on neighborhood watches in their area."

Thumbs up to the Vidrines of Island Ferry for this significant donation to the police department.
