ROCKLAND (Nov 8, 2004): Rodney Townsend learned a hard lesson on Saturday evening: Don't drink and mow.
The 42-year-old Rockland man was arrested on West Meadow Road around 6 p.m. after police found him riding a Murray lawn tractor, with attached trailer, in the roadway.
Townsend was stopped and charged with operating under the influence. His driver's license had been previously suspended, so he was also charged with operating under suspension.
A report by Officer William Smith said Townsend had made it about half-mile on West Meadow Road before he was stopped. After his arrest, Townsend's lawn mower and trailer were towed away.
