We'll be on Caye Caulker from 2/14 til 2/29 and were wondering when Lobster season was closing for this year.

I was sort of waiting for somebody who knows for sure to answer this. But we just returned last week and it seems to me that I read that it goes to Feb 15. Maybe you can get in one good meal right away?

Does this mean that if I will be there in March that there won't be any lobster available anywhere?

Yes, that is eaxactly what it means. The poor little lobsters need time to reproduce or there won't be any at all.

Well, I'm disappointed I won't be there for the lobster...guess I'll just have to make a point to go in early February next year. I know that the lobster need time to make babies..I was just hoping you could get some for dinner, even if it was frozen. : )
Another question then, if lobster is out of season, are other shellfish out of season as well (ie. shrimp, scallops, etc)?

No. Try the conch and shrimp

Even though it was not lobster season, the fish, shrimp and conch WERE excellent! Try the conch fingers at Rainbow Grill and Bar. Put a few drops of the habanero sauce in the dipping sauce and man, oh, man....I'm missing it already!
