The kind people that visit this message board have always gone overboard whenever the island has been in need and we are asking for your help once again.

The staff of the Caye Caulker RC School and the PTA would like to solicit your help to outfit the school's fledglig computer lab.

The school is badly in need of fifteen new desktop computer sets (monitor, cpu, ups and printer). We have gotten a quote of $800 U.S. per computer set. This is a quote from a local computer company here in Belize.

However, we understand that Dell computers in the U.S. has been having a computer sale since the beginning of this year. Their low budget computers run about $500 U.S. Combined with shipping these computers to Belize, plus the import duty once they get here, the cost would still be close to $800 U.S. per computer but at least they would be more modern with power saving flat panel monitors.

We are asking your financial assistance to help make this computer lab a reality. The school has no budget for this and at this point it is an urgent and pressing dream.

If you would like to donate a new computer to the school, please have it shipped to the following address:

Caye Caulker R. C. School
Caye Caulker, Belize

The project coordinator is Ellen Armstrong of Cayeboard Connection.

We regret that the school does not have a budget for shipping donated computers. If you would like to help, but cannot afford the cost of a new computer, we would be glad to pool donated funds together.

Monetary donations by credit card can be sent via paypal to [email protected]. I will acknowledge all donations publicly and forward the funds to the school.

Checks can also be mailed to:

Caye Caulker R. C. School
Computer Lab Project
c/o P.O. Box 51
Caye Caulker, Belize

Thank you again for all the assistance the treasure of people that visit this message board have provided over time. The school appreciates it, the students appreciate and the village appreciate it.

Thanks and cheers,
Wendy
