Anybody have any feedback they can provide? The first floor unit looks adorable and the price is certainly attractive. We have never been to Ambergris before ... not sure if this would be a good location for newbies? Had kinda set my mind on The Palms until I ran across the Yellowbird House. Any thoughts on either property would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

It is cute and nice, but it isn't on the beach, and close to a noisy corner. My recommendation for newbies is stay on the beach and close to stuff for the first time, then look around at other options for next time. You can ask resort owners/managers if they have the things you want...quiet, nightlife, middle of town, pool, etc, before you book. Also, you get what you pay for, so price isnt' always the deciding point, but sometimes it is.

I went to a party at the Yellowbird a few years ago. It's a really nice place, but it depends on what you are looking for. Like Gwena, I would recommed you stay at a hotel on the beach with a nice pool for your first visit. However, Yellowbird is certainly an option if budget is a concern.

Can't comment on the house since I've never been inside, but I know the owners are super nice people!

The house is way cute. It has a lovely little garden in the back with a little palapa (thatch roof)and there is a big rooftop patio that overlooks the sea and the lagoon. No it isn't on the beach but it is pretty darned close.

Thank you all for the comments! I'm still looking around at some other places. But I think I may have ruled out the Yellowbird House. It does look adorable and we will try to check it out while there.

Thanks again,
Beth
