I think this is indicative of the number of lurkers that frequent the AC.com message boards.

in addition to that, and people suggesting it to their SP friends, fb posts a notification as each of us on FB joins (ex: "peter jones became a fan of san pedro"), then all of our friends see it and only have to click a button to join too. like that old they tell two friends commercial. it can grow exponentially. pretty cool.
