I understand there is a lobster season but do they serve lobster year round at restaurants in San Pedro? We are coming at the end of March. Dawg

No. You'll have to try some other delicacy. Feb 14 is the last day of the season.

I could be wrong but I believe that some restaurants have a license to sell lobster all year round. I'm almost sure of it.

I'm going with this. Yes, the season closes---but some places have frozen stuff, and a permit to get them through. Then again, it's available fresh.

and knowing that it's very likely illegal anyway --- please, we have a very overfished lobster situation and buying out of season (license or not) just contributes to the demise of this valuable resource.

AND PLEASE - if the tails are undersize don't buy them and tell the seller why. I have stopped buying from the fisherman I used for years and he knows why.

Thanks for all the comments. I guess I'll have to put up with fresh fish, shrimp, scallops, conch, and crab maybe. Alas, what a tough vacation it will be. Dawg

If you hammer out conch with a meat tenderizer & cook on grill, I think it is better thank lobster.
