Aarrgghh! The terminology regarding air travel really should be publicized appropriately.
NONSTOP - is what the new Delta flight is called. Meaning it originates in one city and ends in another without any stops.
DIRECT - a flight that originates in one city, has a stop (or more) but no change of aircraft, and ends in another city. Very much like the Tropic flights from west or south.
CONNECTING - a flight that originates in one city. The passenger will disembark in another city and have a different aircraft/flight number to catch to another city that may or may not be their destination and sometimes may even be a different carrier.
Ok. I'm better now.
